Degree

The International Media Studies program normally runs for four semesters. Students will be awarded with the academic title "Master of Arts (M.A.)".

The Program curriculum is made up of 13 modules. Every modul concludes with an exam. The tests take place in the two weeks before the next semester's lectures begin. In this time, there are no other lectures to attend. The sequence of tests is consistent with the modular structure of the program. Every module concludes with an exam. A module test can be retaken twice.

The program concludes with a Master Thesis and colloquium. The regular tests take place in the two weeks before the next semester’s lectures begin. In this time, there are no other lectures to attend. In order to ensure that there are no large delays for the program, tests are retaken at the beginning of the lecture-free time during the summer semester.

When the entire program has been completed, including the Master Thesis and colloquium in the fourth semester, students will be awarded with the academic title "Master of Arts (M.A.)" by the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences. The University of Bonn also offers especially qualified graduates the opportunity to pursue a doctorate.
